Introduction

The NGO Coordination Committee for Iraq (NCCI) is established in 2003, NCCI’s mission, structure and objectives continuously evolved to adapt to the changing circumstances and support needs for civil society in Iraq. Primary functions include coordination and information sharing, advocacy support services and capacity building for NGOs.

  1. Purpose

NCCI is in continuous mode to strengthen the organizational capacity of local & national organizations (NNGOs) to enhance their effectiveness and sustainability. Under this coaching initiative, NCCI will assign a consultant to work with 15 NNGOs to address the actual gaps in partnership development.

NCCI is seeking the services of an individual consultant who will work in close collaboration with NCCI and YANHAD project NGOs to undertake these coaching activities.

  1. OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE

The overall objective of the coaching consultancy is to work with project NGOs to identify areas for technical and organizational improvement. As a result, targeted NGOs will increase their expertise in partnership development.

  1. METHODOLOGY OF THE CAPACITY ASSESSMENT

The consultant should conduct the coaching activities using a methodology developed in partnership with NCCI. It is expected that it will be built around self-assessment processes as well as creation of action plans and direct support through coaching session, meetings, trainings, FGDs, resources, etc.

An end-line assessment to be conducted to evaluate the impact of how this coaching activity have increase project NGOs capacities and knowledge.

  1. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  2. Consultant: The consultant will be responsible for designing and delivering the capacity assessment tool for partnership development, collect and analyze results, design technical coaching and follow-up support, end-line assessment and deliver a report outlining the impact.

  3. NCCI: The Consultant will be contracted by NCCI. NCCI will have responsibility for the overall management of the Consultant and this will include; developing and finalizing the terms of reference, reviewing and finalizing the methodology and monitoring the delivery of milestones.

  4. KEY DELIVERABLES

  5. An inception report including a work plan, detailed methodology, report format and timeline, to be submitted within 5 working days from the commencement of the assignment.

  6. Assess NNGOs capacities in partnership development, collect and analysis responses of NNGOs.

  7. Provide coaching support through (but not limited to) trainings, meetings, FGDs and share relevant resources.

  8. End line assessment and a consolidated report which includes findings of the coaching consultancy, the impact and any future recommendation to be submitted within 5 working days completing the coaching support.

  1. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY:

  2. Consultant fees $8,500 (lump sum for 3 Months consultancy)

The consultant is expected to have the following skills and expertise:

  • National or international in country is desirable.
  • Post-graduate level Degree in Development/Business Administration/Social Work or relevant.
  • Minimum 3 years’ Partnership experience with NGOs or INGOs.
  • Proven experience of conducting training on Partnerships development for NGOs.
  • Strong communication, analytical and drafting skills.
  • Very good experience with MS Office.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory – Kurdish is desirable.
